Many people are posting definitions of words... well, one word... today. So I thought I'd share a couple of definitions of words that are particularly salient to me:
TOLERANCE: the ability or willingness to tolerate something, in particular the existence of opinions or behavior that one does not necessarily agree with.
ALTRUISM: the belief in or practice of disinterested and selfless concern for the well-being of others.
COMPASSION: sympathetic pity and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others.
EMPATHY: the ability to understand and share the feelings of another.
Those are some beautiful words.
